Motorola has made a long line of successful new camera phones. Now the company has built on its success with the V220 Tri Band by adding the V220 Quad. The addition of the GSM 850 band allows use in many Caribbean, South and Central American countires. Plus, there are still some remote areas in the US and Canada that only offer GSM 850 service. So, we are not bending the truth when we say that if you are within the range of ANY GSM tower, worldwide, THIS PHONE WILL WORK! It still comes with a long list of all the features (see below). You'll like the slim and attractive package. It has style and simplicity. This flip phone has a soothing shape with a smooth surface and rounded corners. At 3.3 by 1.7 by 0.9 inches and 3.7 ounces, it's small enough to fit in almost any pocket and light enough to travel anywhere. It also benefits from solid construction and is comfortable to hold while you're talking. In addition to the large 65K color internal display, it has a rectangular external screen that shows the time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID (where available). This saves a lot of time and trouble “flipping” when you only need basic information. Unlike the full color internal display, the external display is monochrome blue but is easy to read in most lighting situations. Completing the outside of the phone are a volume rocker, a camera-shutter key, and a USB port on the left spine, while a voice-dial activation button sits on the right spine. However, you will find this phones biggest advantage to travelers is the automatic GSM frequency selection. Depending on the SIM card you install, it automatically sets to either GSM 900/1800 for overseas networks or GSM 850/1900 for the USA and Canada.
